About the Southend CAB

Southend CAB is run by a Trustee Board made up of local people. We are a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. We have a small number of paid staff, who alongside their other roles, support our unpaid volunteers, without whom the Bureau could not operate.

Our volunteers give their time to the Bureau to help their community. The different roles they perform are:

• advisers (full training is given)
• receptionists
• administrators (including IT support)
• building maintenance personnel
• Trustee Board members.

We always need new volunteers. If you are able to give your time and would like to join our team in the rewarding work that we do, please contact us.

We receive funds from Southend-on-Sea Borough Council, the Legal Services Commission, the Big Lottery Fund and donations from members of the community.

Southend CAB is a full member of Citizens Advice, who monitor our quality of advice, train our advisers and provide our basic information system.
